Training for Nervous, Excitable or Reactive Dogs
Dogs that find a group environment difficult are welcome to begin with private coaching.
A one-to-one setting allows exercises to be adapted around your dog’s confidence, focus and ability to cope. There is no pressure to progress into classes; the aim is to find the most productive training arrangement for the individual dog.
Please explain any reactivity or safety concerns when booking so the session can be planned appropriately.
What Happens During a Session?
At the beginning of your appointment, we will discuss what you would like to improve and any relevant history.
Nikki will then observe you and your dog, introduce suitable exercises and coach you through practising them. The focus is not on creating a perfect result within 45 minutes—it is on giving you clearer communication and practical skills that you can continue using afterwards.
Bring plenty of small, high-value treats, your dog’s favourite toy, a long line and water for your dog.
