Why Choose Monthly Agility Coaching?
Progress in agility rarely comes from one isolated training session.
Regular coaching allows us to follow your development, review how exercises are progressing and adjust your training as your dog’s understanding grows.
Rather than beginning from the same point whenever you need help, monthly coaching creates continuity. We can identify priorities, develop them between sessions and make decisions based on the progress of your individual team.
Membership can help you:
Train with greater consistency
Avoid becoming stuck on the same problem
Develop skills in a logical order
Receive feedback before small issues become established
Prepare for upcoming competitions
Build confidence in your handling
Stay accountable to your training goals
Who Is the Membership For?
The Agility Coaching Membership is suitable for:
Beginner teams building strong foundations
Handlers progressing from the Agility Foundations Course
Recreational teams wanting regular individual coaching
Competitive handlers working towards specific goals
Dogs needing support with particular agility skills
Handlers who prefer one-to-one coaching
Teams training alongside regular group classes
You do not need to be an experienced competitor to join. Your sessions will begin at your current level and develop according to what you and your dog need.
What Can We Work On?
Your sessions can focus on any area of your agility training, including:
Focus and engagement
Agility foundations
Flatwork and forward focus
Start-line waits
Jump skills
Tunnel confidence and independence
Weave-pole entries, exits, speed and proofing
Contact-equipment performance
Handling techniques
Obstacle discrimination
Short sequences and full courses
Course analysis
Competition preparation
Confidence, speed and accuracy
A specific problem affecting your performance
The focus can change as your training develops. You may spend several sessions progressing one skill or use each appointment to address a different priority.
Coaching Tailored to Your Team
Every dog-and-handler partnership has different strengths, challenges and goals.
Nikki will assess what is happening, break exercises into manageable stages and help you understand how your handling, timing and reward placement influence your dog.
You will leave each appointment knowing what to practise before your next session. When you return, we can review what has changed and decide how to progress the exercise.
This creates a purposeful training process rather than relying on occasional sessions without a clear connection between them.
Supporting Competitive Progression
For competitive teams, membership provides regular opportunities to work on the details that can affect performance in the ring.
Sessions can be used to:
Analyse recurring competition faults
Improve handling choices and timing
Prepare for particular course challenges
Develop obstacle independence
Build greater speed and confidence
Create an off-season or pre-season training focus
Prepare for progression through the agility grades
Your coaching will be shaped around the team you are now and the team you are working to become.
Why Train with Nikki Hodgson?
Nikki is a Grade 7 and Championship agility competitor who has attended Team GB tryouts and international qualifiers.
Her coaching is positive, honest and practical. Rather than repeatedly running exercises without a clear purpose, Nikki helps handlers understand why a problem is happening and how to train the skill more effectively.
Whether you are building your first agility foundations or aiming for stronger competitive performances, your coaching will be adapted to support meaningful progression.
